Huge F-150 Recall Resisting By Ford

According to reliable sources, Federal Regulators and Ford Motor Co is in a discussion over whether the auto manufacturer should have to expand the recall process of F-150 pickup trucks more than dozens of reports which airbags have deployed without any prior notice.

David Strickland, Chief of Traffic Safety National Highway Administration said on Wednesday that both are in talking more than a month, agency has been exclusively pushing for large numbers of vehicles to be called back.

In the month of February, a Dearborn auto manufacturer said that company would try to recall approximately 135, 000 units of F – 150 pickup trucks in United States regarding the concern which is raised by a government that set of airbags could deploy but without giving any prior notification.

As the recall number showed that the fraction of a 1.3 million units of automotives which NHTSA asked this leading company, Ford for recalling process in the month of January. Strickland said in his interview that Ford company already took major action and hence, recalled more than 135,000 units of trucks.

But, company still feels that this recalling process needs to be expanded and hence, Ford is now planning to expand recall. He continued that both sides may soon come together for mutually profitable solution after going through the size of recall. Wes Sherwood, spokesperson of Ford said that the company is ready to co – operate with NHTSA.

Officials of NHTSA said that till date, Ford has reports of around 269 airbags deployment as well as about 98 cases of injuries which are happened because of F – 150 pickup trucks during the year 2004 to 2006. in the list of injuries, fractured arms, burns and chipped teeth are included.

According to enforcement attorney of NHTSA, this problem is definitely going to be increased day by day and hence, Ford must start to expand recall. If Ford is not ready to take any serious action then NHTSA could convene the official public hearing just to compel the recall. In the history of automotives, this step is considered as the rear step.
